1744 Abraham Morrill Receipt for Payment from Dorothy Evans
A receipt signed by Abraham Morrill (1705-1780) for monies owed to him by Thomas Evens (1703-1743). Thomas died in 1743 and his widow (wedow) Dorothy was paying her husband's debts. The paper for the receipt was torn from a school work page who's young student signed his name to the scrap of paper. I was able to find Abraham through the genealogy of his son Roby because his name was so unusual. From that piece of information, I was able to track down Thomas Evens.
Signed by Abraham Morrill, this is an interesting piece of our colonial history.
