1793 Shipbuilding Payment Receipts for Waterhouse Family
These are three payment receipts for the Waterhouse men of Maine from the year 1793. The Waterhouse family of Stroudwater Village (outside of Portland Maine) were well known shipbuilders In what was then part of Massachusetts but in 1820 became the state of Maine. William (the father and Revolutionary War soldier), John (a son) and William (a son) are the signers of these three receipts. A wonderful 18th century set of receipts that includes the signature of a Revolutionary War soldier.
