1820 William Penn's Memoirs Private and Public - Complete in One Volume

$109.00Price

An 1820 edition of the memoir of William Penn by Thomas Clarkson that traces his life from birth to his death with lots of information on his travels in the New World. He first landed at the port in New Castle, Delaware, which was then in one of the 'lower counties' of Pennsylvania and not a separate state. The alley that he walked up into the town of 'Newcastle' still stands as an alley off The Strand in New Castle today. It is a wonderful historic town that is a hidden gem in New Castle County, DE (I am a bit biased as I live about 10 minutes from Historic New Castle.
This edition was printed in Dover, NH by Thomas Mann and is in great shape, easy to read, and complete down to its red leather title plate on the spine.
