This is the complete muster roll for Captain Edward Blackburn's Company 'G' in the 21st Regiment whose overall commander was Colonel David Moore (eventually Brig. General Moore) - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Moore_(military_officer)
This muster roll encompasses the dates 4/30/1864 to 6/30/1864 and covers these battles and deployments of this company: Red River Campaign March 10-May 22, At Alexandria April 26-May 13, Retreat to Morganza May 13–20, Mansura May 16, Yellow Bayou May 18, Moved to Vicksburg, Miss.. thence to Memphis, Tenn., May 22-June 10, Action at Old River Lake or Lake Chicot June 5–6.
The roll is complete and gives not only the names and ranks of each soldier but also their pay, date and place of mustering in, and comments. Edwin Moore was promoted Major on May 27, 1862 and then was promoted to Lt. Colonel on March 20, 1864. He was the adjutant for the regiment.When Colonel David Moore got shot in the leg at the Battle of Shiloh, Major Edwin Moore took command of the regiment.
On the back of the muster roll is a section that gives the movements of the company during this time period.
Included is a picture of Colonel Moore and it measures 21" x 32" wide.
