Thomas Brunton was a Quaker from Ireland and James Rowan was from Scotland. Thomas Brunton was a landowner in York PA and James was a JP in York County, PA. These two 'chits' or receipts are from 1782 and 1792. Both are in great condition and would be wonderful sitting on an early desk or table.
